The best way to store your coffee

The best way to store your coffee

Coffee lovers, make every cup count by prolonging the quality and flavour of your coffee. Here are some tips on how to store your coffee at home or at work.

Avoid the fridge or freezer

Many people assume that the best way to store coffee is in the freezer or refrigerator. This exposes the coffee to humidity and moisture, which will reduce its quality and flavour.

The best place to store your coffee products is in a cool environment, away from direct sunlight, and at a temperature below 25C. A kitchen pantry, shelf or cupboard is a great spot.

Use air tight containers

Oxygen is another enemy of coffee, so reducing its exposure is important. The less oxygen, the longer the flavour is preserved. Make sure your coffee bag is zipped or wrapped as tight as possible and stored in an air tight container.

Buy the quantity that you will consume in 2 weeks

Buy what you will consume within 2 weeks, rather than in bulk. This is especially true if you purchase your own beans. Coffee does not preserve that well once the package is opened due to exposure to oxygen and humidity, so buy just what you need for 2 weeks so every cup you brew is at its optimum flavour and freshness.

The freshness of our individually sealed drip coffee bags will last 6 months

At Maven's Brew we aim to maximise the quality of every cup by sealing each drip coffee bag to lock in it's freshness and flavour. The flavour and quality is maintained for up to 6 months from date of roasting.

Make every cup count! Happy brewing.
